AI agent incident

GitLab patched a 9.9-severity AI Gateway flaw that let Duo Agent Platform users run commands

Reported · 1 source

What happened

GitLab patched a flaw rated 9.9 in its AI Gateway that let users of the Duo Agent Platform execute commands on self-hosted gateways. The fixed versions are 19.2.4, 19.3.2 and 19.4.1.

Why it matters

The gateway brokers every model call the agent platform makes, so command execution there is command execution on the box holding those credentials. It is the second critical AI gateway flaw in this database in ten days, after Bifrost's CVSS 9.8, and both live on self-hosted infrastructure that nobody patches for you.
