AI agent incident

A hidden Meta Muse setting could redirect a Mac's voice dictation to an attacker

Reported · 1 source

What happened

Researcher Patrick Wardle published a proof of concept on 21 September showing that malware already running on a Mac can flip a hidden Meta Muse setting and send the user's voice dictation to an attacker.

Why it matters

Nothing had to be broken, only re-pointed. That is what broad device permissions buy an attacker who already has a foothold, and it is the argument for auditing assistant scopes before deployment rather than after.
